Activity Report


Under the blessings of Reverend Sant Baba Malkit Singh ji and Sant Baba Dlawar Singh ji (Brahm Ji), and with the support of Honorable Chancellor Sant Baba Manmohan Singh ji, Maharishi University's Upgrade Campus recently hosted a vibrant hackathon. Guided by Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr) Dharmjit Singh Parmar, Dean Academics Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Dhir, and Dean of UIET and UICAIS Prof. (Dr.) Jagdeep Kaur, the event provided an exciting platform for tech-savvy students to exhibit their creativity, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork. Drawing participation from 45 enthusiastic teams comprising students from various disciplines, the hackathon showcased a diverse range of innovative ideas and perspectives. Through multiple rounds, participants were challenged to develop inventive solutions to predefined problems within set time constraints. Evaluation criteria included creativity, feasibility, technical execution, and presentation skills. Despite stiff competition, two teams from our institution distinguished themselves with their originality, technical prowess, and compelling presentations, securing spots in the final round.

Success of Our Teams:

Amidst intense competition, two teams representing our institution demonstrated exceptional ingenuity and proficiency, earning their place in the final round of the hackathon. Their projects stood out for their innovative approaches, robust technical implementation, and compelling presentations.

Team A: Devashish, Priyanka, Pratiksha ,Manisha

Project Description:Software Firewall, the firewall solution offers multi-layered defense against DDoS attacks, integrating rate limiting, connection tracking, and anomaly detection. Its modular architecture ensures seamless integration and scalability. Future enhancements include advanced machine learning for real-time threat detection, enabling autonomous adaptation and more accurate anomaly detection for comprehensive cybersecurity defense.

Team B:Manjot Kaur, Simran, Sunaina, Piyush

Project Description:CCTV ardware Security, our project focuses on advancing CCTV hardware security, aiming to enhance surveillance capabilities and bolster overall security measures. We'll explore innovative technologies, design robust systems, integrate intelligent features, and ensure seamless deployment. By pushing the boundaries of surveillance technology, we aim to create safer environments for all.

Final Round and Awards:

In the final round of the hackathon, our teams showcased their projects to a panel of esteemed judges, vying for top honors. The culmination of the event witnessed the announcement of winners and the recognition of outstanding achievements. While the competition was fierce, the experience gained and the connections forged throughout the hackathon were invaluable for all participants.

Conclusion:

Maharishi University's Upgrade Campus Hackathon provided a platform for students to unleash their creativity, collaborate with peers, and tackle real-world challenges through technology-driven solutions. The participation of 45 teams and the selection of our two teams for the final round underscored the talent and innovation thriving within our institution. As we celebrate the success of our teams, we look forward to further nurturing the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship among our student community. Such events not only foster technical skills but also cultivate essential qualities such as teamwork, perseverance, and adaptability, preparing students for success in the dynamic landscape of the tech industry.
